Bonjour, I’m Anaïs, a French soul from Provence, a traveller at heart, and the hands behind Balandrade Céramique.

I have always loved movement: discovering new places, trying something unfamiliar, beginning again. Love brought me to Portugal, where I am writing this chapter of my story.

In 2020, my life as a flight attendant came to a sudden standstill. The planes were grounded, and I needed something to keep my mind occupied. I found clay. Working with my hands helped me through the uncertainty, giving me somewhere to put my energy and imagination. What began as a form of comfort became a passion I could no longer put down.

Today, my atelier is my own little world. Sometimes there is a podcast playing; sometimes, only silence. It is where I feel calm, where ideas take shape, and where I can follow my curiosity wherever it leads.

I am full of ideas, drawn to new techniques, and rarely afraid to try. When something captures my imagination, I put my whole heart into it.

That is what I want you to feel when you hold one of my pieces: the care, the passion, and the life that went into making it. Even within a collection, every piece has its own details. You are taking home a small piece of art — something that belongs uniquely to you.

Some customers first came to me for their wedding and have stayed for years, choosing new pieces as their lives unfold. Being invited into those different chapters is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.
